BATHROOM VANITY DESIGNS TO SPARK YOUR IMAGINATION.

The first that’s worthy of a spot on your wishlist is the bathroom vanity. As one of the focal points in any exquisite bathroom, choose your vanity wisely and you have the power to transform your walls into a serene space you’ll look forward to relaxing in at the end of each day.

Whether you’ve been picturing a more traditional or a more modern style, being creative with your bathroom vanity is key.

Take it Traditional

If you’re hoping to create a classic, timeless look, there are plenty of bathroom vanity designs to choose from. First though, you’ll need to decide between a wall hung and a floor standing vanity.

Both have their virtues. To start with, traditional wall hung vanities are great if you’re a minimalist on the lookout for just a dash of vintage class. They are also a very handy choice if you are a little short on space.

Take the Stafford as an example. Petite and compact, this beautiful vanity from TurnerHastings’ Made In England collection, would look the part no matter the size of your bathroom.

Floor standing vanities on the other hand, are just as elegant and make for beautiful centrepieces. They also typically tend to allow for more storage space, so if you’re practical by nature, or you simply want a secret cove to stash away your mess on short notice before guests come visiting, then a floor standing vanity may be your perfect match!

The Glamour Silk Vanity from Parisi Furniture is a great example. Its petite legs, calming colours and marble surface give off a natural, graceful charm that would steal the show in any traditionally designed bathroom.

Make it Modern

Just like with the traditional style vanities, if you’re hoping to create a sleek and contemporary look, you will have to make a decision between going for a wall hung or a floor standing piece.

Modern bathroom designs are renowned for their minimalist style. Wall hung vanities are, therefore, a very popular choice for many. And although they share the same advantage as the more traditional wall hung vanities, when it comes to their petite, compact nature, their styles remain entirely unique.

Take the Riviera from Marquis’ modern vanity collection as a fine example. Simplistic and clean, this wall hung feature embodies the image of luxury and relaxation, while simultaneously providing you with ample storage space.

Unlike the traditional floor standing vanities, its modern rivals are more experimental in style and not necessarily designed to be spacious. As many are now opting for a more simplistic and honest look, it’s becoming popular for example, to make a bold statement with the pipes.

You can see from the Como Frame 600, how visibly showcasing the sink’s plumbing is one of the most noticeable features of this vanity. By framing the pipes with an industrial metallic glamour, this simplistic style immediately grabs your attention.

SHAVING CABINETS AND TALL BOYS TO INSPIRE A SOPHISTICATED SHAVE!

Next up on the list of bathroom must-haves is the much needed feature to address your eye level storage needs: the shaving cabinet. But don’t let the name mislead you, this nifty bathroom cabinet remains popular for much more than just shaving tools. With a cabinet that’s at just the right height, it makes for a convenient home for your toothpaste, razors, make-up and medicines alike!

While some opt for the two-in-one combi of mirror meets secret cabinet, others prefer to make more of a statement. It all depends on the style you are going for, the other bathroom furniture you will be featuring, and of course, how much space you have to play with.

One of our recent projects in Russell Lea showcases the wonders of mirror storage. Killing two birds with one stone, not only can you reach for your toiletries in one swift movement, but you can also spot that mischievous bit of toothpaste lingering on your face as you do so!

If, on the other hand you’re hoping to experiment with the layout of your bathroom, who says your shaving cabinet has to be directly above your sink? Our clients from Newtown for example, chose to position their cabinet over the toilet, to give their bathroom space a sleek, unique look, while taking advantage of every inch of their back wall space.

And if you want to try something a little different, you can always opt for a tall boy that’s carved with care and painted a creamy beige, a husky greeny-grey or a soothing oaky colour.

MIRROR DESIGNS TO REFLECT TRANQUILLITY

Adding the right mirror can be so much more than just eye-catching! If you work with a great team who know what they’re doing then the mirror you choose can be a real game-changer. It can be used to make the room look more spacious, to capture more light, to add to the whole ambience of your bathroom and, as we’ve already seen, to hide secret storage space within its frame!

When it comes to your options, you have several. If you are looking for a traditional style, you may want to opt for a framed mirror that stands as a centre-piece. If on the other hand, you are hoping for a more modern, minimalist style, choosing a mirror without a frame will often give your bathroom the crisp and airy look you envisioned.

This rectangular mirror for example, emits a natural sense of space and freedom, with its straight lines, curved edges and frameless body.

Whereas this glamorous circular mirror adds a softer note to the room, complimenting the rounded shape of the countertop sink sitting above the vanity.

If, on the other hand, you are looking for something a little more practical and multi-functional, you may want to take a look at some options that offer both storage space and an elegant mirror, like the one below.

So remember that whenever you start to brainstorm your bathroom vanity ideas, there are many other pieces of bathroom furniture that you must also consider before moving onto the next step. Then, once you’ve hand-picked each piece of your bathroom puzzle, it will be time to get the ball rolling and turn your bathroom vision into more than just an idea in your head.
